The easiest Guacamole Ever!
This is honestly the easiest guacamole ever. Avocados have to be one of my favourite food! I could eat them every day, I love them. This recipe for guacamole is delicious and one of the best things about it is that it is ridiculously quick!

I am not a lazy cook but I am a busy person, so I look for quick wins in the kitchen as often as I can. If you had all the time in the world, you could add a few extra ingredients to give this a boost, but to be honest, it really doesn’t need it. In my experience, if it is fiddly to make or time consuming then it will be made less often or not at all, especially in busy households.
I have made this a zillion times, it goes with so many dishes, and there is NEVER any left in the bowl. It is so fresh tasting and when you have made it once and tasted the difference between this and shop bought Guacamole, you will never want to buy it again. There is no need when you can make it this fast.
What is Guacamole?
Guacamole is a Mexican dip made by mashing avocados and salt together. Recipes often included jalapenos, coriander or lime juice. Recipes that were not so traditional would often add tomatoes as well.
What do you serve it with?
Well, everything! Well almost, in my house at least. Guacamole goes beautifully with a great chill, a feast of Tacos or simply as a dip for chips or nachos. For a lunch time favourite you can spread it on some toast and top it with slices of tomato but to be honest there is an endless amount of options.
Healthy fats
Unhealthy fats like Trans fats, found in foods like meat and dairy products and saturated fats found in foods like meat products, junk food and cakes are not good for your body. They should be limited substantially they have no nutritional benefits.
Healthy fats however do. There are two types of healthy fats: polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats.
There are two types of polyunsaturated fats: omega 3 and omega 6. Our bodies do not make some of these fats so we need to include small amounts of them in our diet. Examples are flax seeds and chia seeds.
Monounsaturated fats can be found in some nuts and seeds and oils. Oil is found in most processed food and so if you eat the standard western diet you are probably getting far too much omega 6 in your diet. It would be much better for your health to get it from unprocessed sources. Avocado is a great healthy source of a monounsaturated fat. Read my post on why to eat a plant based diet here and how to start here.
When life gives you lemons
I like to have fresh lemons and limes in the house at all times. I love citrus fruits and all of the health benefits they bring. During lockdown however there seemed to be a shortage. I struggled to get hold of them. So I resorted to buying some bottled lemon juice so I could continue cooking with it and I am so glad I did.
This is one of the reasons that this recipe is so quick and easy. I would always use fresh lemons if you can but when you are in a rush, why not make things a little easier.
Salt
I gave up ordinary salt a long time ago. Ordinary table salt does not have any of the original trace minerals and very often has anti-caking agents in it to prevent clumping.
I use Pink Himalayan salt, it tastes great and the trace minerals are still present, including iron, potassium and magnesium. This also means that the level of sodium is slightly lower too.
Adding salt to your food is not a problem anyone should worry about as long as you don’t eat processed food. Processed food has a lot of low quality salt added to help preserve the food while it is on the shelf. So if you then go and add more salt to your food, you are probably eating too much.
Excess sodium can lead to problems like high blood pressure, stroke and heart failure among others. So be mindful about salt in general.
Garlic
Garlic is a must for this recipe in my opinion. It is really nutritious and can help with cholesterol and blood pressure. In this recipe I have used garlic granules because I have gone for a super quick version, but of course you could crush a couple of cloves if you prefer.
All that is left is to make it and enjoy it! Remember if you have extra time and want to add more ingredients, I have listed them as optional extras.
